KOREAN Royal Dragon Bomber Jacket
The dragon shown on the front is based on a depiction from the Sajeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace built in 1395 (Joseon Period) and was rebuilt in 1553 after a fire destroyed the palace. Inside the Sajeongjeon Hall there is a painting hanging inside the hall depicting two dragons flying around clouds. Dragons in Korean Culture symoblise great power, wisdom, courage and is revered by many throughout Korea’s long history.
The writing on the back is a popular saying in Korea to describe someone who is fearless and courageous it reads 용감한 마음 (yong-gamhan ma-eum) loose translation is the heart/courage of a dragon or brave heart.
