Legends - Samurai Spirit Bomber Jacket
Legends - Samurai Spirit Bomber Jacket
The main artwork on the back is based on a famous photo of an Meji period man with a Samurai Tattoo. The man cannot be positively identified, however it is said that this man may be a part of the Japanese Mafia or ‘Yakuza’. The tattoo itself is no doubt of a samurai, or it could be a Kabuki actor playing a samurai.
The words above ‘武士道’or in English ‘Bushido’ is the samurai code of conduct. It can be roughly translated to ‘The Way of the Warrior’. These are old rules that samurai had to follow, it is commonly split into 8 virtues they are: Righteousness, Heroic Courage, Benevolence and Compassion, Respect, Honesty, Honour, Duty and Loyalty and Self Control. On the right arm it reads, ‘Righteousness and Loyalty’, the left arm reads ‘Compassion and Respect’.
